Skyler :)

Mommy and Skyler painting cookies for our first meeting :)
Our first family photo nearly two years ago!

I was once told that everyone has one missionary that helps open the door to the Church. My missionary was a blue-eyed blond-hair toddler. She insisted on calling me Mommy from day one, no matter how hard I tried to get her to call me Sara. She knew before Ryan and I did. She chose us to be her parents. We didn’t have much of a say in it :) Luckily, I am also head over heels in love with her Daddy! Looking at her, I knew she deserved the best of me, and I wasn’t at my best. We started going back to church as a family. First every now and then, which progressed to every other week, finally ending with every week plus all sorts of activities and callings throughout the week. Ryan and Skyler gave me the best gifts possible, not only the love of a family but also the love of the Church. For the first time in my life, I can say that I have a testimony in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know without a doubt that Joseph Smith restored the gospel to this earth and that Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet today. I am grateful for all that I have been through in my life, because had I not faced the trials that I did, I would not have been ready to become the person I need to be. I know I am still not anywhere near perfect, but everyday Ryan and I are becoming closer at reaching our goal of being sealed together for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Our Chaotic Week

Ryan had a lumbar injection on Monday so they gave him medicine to kick the pain. The surgery was in Dallas, which is two hours away from Tyler. He was fine for the first thirty minutes of the drive, but then the meds really started kicking in. He agreed to have three more babies, and we even named them :) of course, he denies it now. The names are really cute though, two boys and one girl. Tristan Alexander, Jackson Andrew, and Nevaeh Star. We have been looking into houses lately, we are ready to expand our family (for clarity, we are not pregnant, or trying to get pregnant any time soon!!) We are not sure we want to stay in Tyler though, it is too far from both of our families.

Skyler has been so cute this week! She has been having some major emotional meltdowns so we have been trying to spend extra quality time with her to help. It is sometimes easy for me to forget how much this little girl has already been through in her short life. This week she has made a vegetable tray with dip, Rice Krispy Treats, and homemade pizza!

She was also unfortunate enough to wake up with pink up in both eyes. Luckily it was gone in two days, and it didn't interfere with my finals or Ryan's work! Who knew kids could get sick at such a perfect time?

We are going to try to get family pictures done before the end of the month. We have never had any done! We just need a cute summer time idea :)
